Still jetlagged

Our nights are calm and cozy, the beds in this country contain several layers of mattresses, sheets, pillows, blankets, additional covers, … and you need it! Despite the almost warm 10 . 15 °C during the days, 0-5 °C in the night creep through the walls and gaps everywhere and make you cuddle up under all that blankets – until ~ 5 a.m. when we wake up to a new day again. It seems that while we are awake our body seems still to hold on to European timetables. It will probably still take one or two weeks to completely “turn south”.

From 6 – 8 breakfast is on the schedule, the kids have their hot chocolate and toasted bread with butter, I fancy some black tea with milk while Christian has some skype with newsletter.
8:30 Everyone is getting nervous, 10 minutes later the kids enter the car and are brought to the school/kindy.
While the kids are out and Christian does his work, I do some work-out and house work done, prepare salt dough for crafting in the afternoon etc

1:15 p.m. Verena is to be picked up
3:00 – Anna’s schoolday is over. Both girls are at home now. When the weather is OK, we would go to the beach, rain makes us do some painting or crafting at home.
5:00 – Dinner already.
7:00 – Kids go to bed.
7:10 – Rest of us does.

  • I remember NZ winters…. especially NZ houses with crappy heating!!
10-15 degrees really isn’t too bad – the weather looks awesome in your pics!
I wish I could beam myself over and join you on your walks!
