Shotover and Arrow River

The Rivers in the Queenstown area are renowned for their gold findings in the late 18th century, there has been a goldrush throughout NZ, when fossickers from all over the world, but especially Australasia came to make their fortune. Some of the gold nuggets can still be awed at Arrowtown’s goldsmith’s and Museum. Today, tourists are drawn to these sites, catched with the possibility to find something but all you really find is a sore back from goldwashing all day. That’s why we changed the plan quickly to sitting in the park eating these massive pink and white cherries (yumm!) and standing near the historic Edith Cavell Bridge watching the Shotover River jetboats roaring through the canyon.
