Lambs update

Yesterday we docked the lambs by putting a rubber ring around their tails. The procedure is supposed to be done within a few days after birth to avoid unnecessary pain. We don’t like the idea of hurting those little fragile animals, but a shorter tail helps them to stay free of flystrike in the summer.…

 

Saturday in Nelson

The kids made a list of how their ideal Saturday would look like: 1. Nelson Saturday Market 2. Clothes shopping! (no pictures, fortunately) 3. Natureland Zoo 4. Tahunanui beach 5. Clothes shopping (no pictures allowed again, sorry) 6. Ice cream End of day. :)  

 

Rainbows!

Just after sunrise a small gap in the clouds created an amazing rainbow over our home. Couldn’t decide which picture to post, so posting all of them.

 

Sleepout finished!

In my mind that was supposed to be a project for a few weeks tops, but it effectively took me more than half a year from start to finish. I learned a couple of things with this project: Experience saves time. Someone who did this a couple of times before is likely at least 10…

 

Saturday in Golden Bay

We haven’t been to the other side of the Takaka Hill for quite a while, so we thought we would go there today, despite the rainy start of the day and the still chilly winter temperatures. But it somehow turned out to be a sunny summer day. :)
