The Bay of Islands is just what the name suggests: A big bay with many little, rugged islands that shade the coastal area from high waves or winds. It’s not only a good spot to do watersports but also dolphin watching, as they also seek shelter here from harsh conditions. We took a ship tour to that famous rock at the pointy end of the bay which sports a big hole (through which the ship slips with big hurray). There also were dolphins and the curious creatures played around the ship but to our disappointment they were having a baby with them so we were not allowed to actually swim with them.

He couldn’t have us at sea but finally, the big white shark got us in the shopping mall and had his dinner before we could find ours.
